When the Runflat system is installed, the tires are shot and deflated due to the difficult terrain, but can still run for 50 to 100 kilometers (depending on actual road conditions).
The Runflat system (also known as the Runflat insert) is bolted to the rim and has no effect on the performance or operation of the vehicle when the tire is fully inflated.
If a tire gets flat, the Runflat system prevents it from displacing and falling off by supporting it, and enables the vehicle to continue driving until passengers and cargo reach safety.
